Twisted Dentist (Novocaine), the latest release for Medusa's Upcoming album "Ripe" is on fire. So much so that while Hunter Root was laying down his guitar track, he accidentally set the amp he was using on fire (A 1950's Dorik Organ Amp). The tones are hot, the vocals chords pumped full of blood, and the music goes to all the right places. Strange and Psychedelic like early 60's-70's rock and roll, yet heavy like the modern icons Queens of the Stone Age
lyrics
Peace of mind, feel my pain,
Feels all the same,
Peace of mind, feel no pain,
Feels all the same,
My face is achin' thanks for yanking my tooth,
It doesn't matter to you.
Novocaine, release your pain,
Yes, the chemistry of brains affecting me today,
It's everywhere, in your hair,
No, I don't believe, I care, I'm sure I have a spare,
Novocaine, Novocaine came.
It's in my blood, shot a dud,
Yes, I see it in your soul, I know you have the toll,
It's everything, release your pain,
Yes, the chemistry of brains effecting me today.

I've listened to this album for years and I still don't know what to say about it.
One of the best albums I've ever heard and there are few things that sound so right to me at all much less in their near entirety.
I love this album and I love this band's music. yehoodi

It's the ride... the dynamics of it. Quiet loud. Clean dirty. Fantastic record from top to bottom. Have all 3 versions and great packaging. Can't go wrong with SYC. gt333
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
Big, clanging psych-rock from this Arizona outfit fuses monk-like vocals with slow-winding guitars for songs that feel like strange hymns. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2016

It's not as heavy as you would expect from the melding of these 2 bands. Instead the songs are a complex and beautifully restrained mix of prog and post-rock that should satisfy fans of Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson. A+. jeff1saunders
